Well, MAN in Hebrew letters, adds up to M=40, add N=50 (here, A is not a letter, but only a sound, that’s why it is not added.)

Therefore, adding up M+N would add up in the corresponding Hebrew letters, as following:

40+50= 90. GEAMATRIA KETANA reduces the number to a single digit, by adding up its digits:

H(O)M(E)R in Hebrew letters, adds up to H=8, add M=40 add R=200 (here, O and E are not letters but only sounds, that’s why they are not added.)
